Friday of the Flip Variety

In case you forgot about Zoe's Halloween costume.

So, it's Halloween weekend.

Time for the Great Pumpkin to rise out of the Pumpkin Patch and bring candy to all the good little girls and boys. (Do you think that counts Rabbits?)

Also, it's time to actually, finally buy the candy to hand out. We always have to wait until the last minute otherwise we somehow end up buying it twice. ( I don't know how that happens!)

Later today, Zoe and Lilly and I will carve the pumpkins. That's my favorite part, and we'll take lots of pictures to share next week.

Let's see, what else about today? Am I forgetting something?

OH, WAIT!!!

RABBIT VIDEOS!!!!!

OK, they have nothing to do with Halloween, but it's still Flip Friday-- so here you are. Start the weekend off right, will you?

And don't forget to have a really fun weekend!!

You won't probably look as good as Zoe does in her costume, but don't take that too hard.

Enjoy yourself anyway!!

Halloween is (Techinically) for... Cats

A Wise Rabbit is about to bestow
Her Wisdom Upon you.
Get ready.

As it comes up on the end of the week and Halloween approaches, Zoe was struck with the strangest realization:

Halloween is really, technically, kinda-sorta a Cat Holiday.

I know. It seems strange to consider, but think about it. With the exception of Zoe's and my Hallowbunnies, how many Halloween decorations have you seen recently with bunnies?

(Side note: This does not count Playboy Bunny costumes. Zoe does not consider those to be bunnies at all!)

You haven't seen signs featuring bunnies with arched backs standing on Jack-o-Lanterns, right?

Nor have you probably seen any freaky, scary bunny eyes glowing in the dark anywhere.

Nope.

Cat Holiday.

So, with that in mind, Zoe decided that for today, she would like to feature Her Cats.

Over the weekend, we went with NeighborBill to our favorite local Country Market, Mason Farms, to get Pumpkins. While we were there, we also had some hot chocolate, and I was given 4 quarters to load up my hands with goat food to feed the goats with the Crazy Eyes. There were a couple llamas and a sheep standing by, too. They did not have Crazy Eyes.

Below, then, are pictures of the Pumpkins we chose in a photo shoot with Zoe's Cats:

Mr. F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Very Disinterested in Pumpkins.

Rosie the Cat.
Mildly interested, but more interested
in cleaning her bum,
which she did directly after this picture was shot.
Zoe liked this creepy,
ghost-like shot of Miss Lilly.
And now for plain old normal cute.
Well, and we had to throw this in, since Miss Emmie did no want her picture taken today. (Sorry to all you Miss Emmie fans.)

So, maybe it's not a Holiday just for cats after all.

Perhaps.

Warning: Dancing Frog Ahead

It's something you don't see everyday.

A dancing frog, that is.

But, since the Chick is doing the YogaDance thing, who do you think needs to be the very first Pig of the Guinea Variety?

That's right. The Frog. In other words... ME!

Now, I am a Scotch-Irish Girl. I am a "let's drink too much and fight" kind of girl.

My hips don't shut the car door.

My ribs don't move separately from the rest of my body.

My neck doesn't move unless it's to shoot back a shot of something.

I am a white girl trapped in a white girl's body. I'm not smooth. I'm not fluid. There's nothing serpentine about me. In fact, I'm pretty darn choppy. Especially when compared to the Chick.

The Chick, on the other hand, is obviously filled with a gooey gel of some kind. When she was a baby being made in Heaven, God said to the Chick: "You don't belong in this bone line. You belong over there in the gooey gel line. Git!"

Sigh.

But that's OK. We had a great time anyhow. The music list we made absolutely rocked! And, since it was the very first run through, what ended up happening is that it turned into more of a planning session for the Chick, while I, the Frog of the non-dancing variety, ended up mostly sitting on the couchy taking notes and sipping a little of the homemade vino.

Sweet. That's more like it.

And Zoe? What was Zoe up to you ask?

She's not that much of a dancer either, but I think She enjoyed herself nonetheless. Watch here, as Miss Zoe Breaks It Down for you:

I mean, really. Just look at those killer moves!!

Doesn't it make you want to bust a move?

We thought it would.

Flip Friday

Here we are again at the end of the week.

Are we really aware of where the beginning went?

Well, no matter. It's Friday, and that's that.

And, as long as it's Friday, we may as well celebrate with...

....A RABBIT MOVIE!!!!

(I'll bet you didn't know that was coming!)

Miss Zoe has been a little disgruntled this week, as you know. Her schedule's been off ever since the Chick was away, and then earlier in the week, there was that whole issue with the salad being late not just once, but-- well, more than once. She did just get a hay order, but even so...

My point is this: The Rabbit was not feeling up to a cinematic appearance for today. She was resting comfortably in Her chalet. And, sometimes, it's best to leave a Resting Rabbit to Herself.

So, in honor of leaving the Resting Rabbit to Herself, we have decided to post an Oldie but a Goodie. The following movie is not truly a Flip Friday movie, as it was not filmed with the Flip camera. But you won't hold that against a Rabbit. Will you?

This was Zoe's first movie ever on the big screen. Lots of Her Fans out there probably hadn't seen it, so I thought why not give it another play?

I think some things bear repeating, don't you?

Lazy Humans Attempt to Redeem Themselves

Hello.

Lazy Human here.

I know. There's no excuse is there?

Miss Zoe really said it all on Monday. We are lazy. We don't deserve anything nice.

We certainly don't deserve to share Space and Breath with Things as Cute as the Cats and Rabbit who live here in the Lilypad.

But, then, we do share those things, so Someone is going to have to get over it.

I'm not mentioning any specific names there. I'm just saying...Someone.

Anyhow, since there was a severe lack of Rabbit Cinematic Events last week, we decided to double up this week and give you a feature today.

Just a little something to brighten up your Wednesday.

Just a little Rabbit to make it all better.

Zoe "Makes" the Bed. from marcy hall on Vimeo.

There there. That's better, isn't it?

I thought so.

Lazy Humans Officially Redeemed.

Well, sort of.

Lazy Humans for Whom There is No Excuse

It seems that -- yet again -- Everything is Left to the Rabbit.

Sigh.

I'm not sure what these humans would do without me. Luckily, my salad is still being delivered on time daily.

Wait. That's a stretch. My Secondary Mama, whom you know as the Blisschick, seems to have returned from her YogaDance Teacher Training without something -- her brain!

She not only has delivered my salad totally late at least twice, but she forgot to supply overnight cat crunch for my cat friend, Lilly. That's not a tragedy -- the cat food -- considering what pigs they are, but my salad? MY SALAD!?!

That's the thing. Secondary Mama was gone for a week and seems to be having a hard time with all the dance steps or something. I mean, I'm a Rabbit for god's sake, I can't possibly know what is going on with her.

Whatever is going on with Secondary Mama has also, apparently, spread to Primary Mama. No Rabbit Movie last week and now me, the Rabbit, writing the blog!?

I think we are in need of some sort of intervention, but how much can one, small Rabbit do when her only helpers are Feline?

Again...sigh.

If you have any suggestions as to how I might deal with these two lazy, out-of-it humans, please let me know.

But why am I asking you!? YOU are also human.

I am surrounded by ineptitude.

WHERE IS THAT RABBIT??

Is that what you're asking yourself?

"Where's that Rabbit?" you're thinking. Maybe you even said it out loud to your Cat. Or, your Dog. Or, to Your Very Own Rabbit.

Don't you worry your long, fuzzy ears. She's back.

And by back, I obviously mean.. back.

She is not that interested in you. But that's OK.

What matters is your interest in Her.

She can feel it.

You see, the Blisschick came home and there's been excitement and busyosity and going back to work after 9 days off, and on, and on, and on. So much catching up to do.

So, we missed blogging for a couple of days. Do you want to make something of it?

Look out your window. Miss Zoe is waiting for you outside. You don't want it to come to that do you?

I didn't think so.

So, instead, why not just check out this painting I made for the Blisschick while she was away:

Written on it is this piece of a poem by Rumi:

My head is bursting with the JOY of the unknown.
My heart is EXPANDING a thousand fold.
Every cell, taking wings, FLIES about the world.

JOY EXPANDING FLIES.

Cool, huh?

That Rumi. Always so cool.

"Like a Rabbit," said Miss Zoe. "Mr. Rumi was cool like Me."

SO very true.

Cool like a Rabbit.

That's something we can all work toward.

Finally!! Flip Friday!!!

And, I say FINALLY FLIP FRIDAY meaning-- FINALLY it's FRIDAY!!!!

That means, of course, the long-awaited return of the Blissful Chick who also lives here.

YAY!!

And just when Miss Lilly was beginning to warm up to me, too.

Oh, well.

So, in honor of the Chick's return, here are two videos.

First, the "After" of the kitchen movies. You are getting to see it before the Chick!!! Do you feel privileged or what??

As it turns out, the narration is totally boring. Sorry. I tried to get a Certain Rabbit to help with that, but She was uncooperative.

Imagine that!!!

And, speaking of feeling privileged, here's your Rabbit Movie for the Week.

Watch at Your Own Risk: It could be Too Cute to be good for you!!

This Week's Zoe Movie from marcy hall on Vimeo.

If you're reading these words, I'm hoping that means you've lived through the Cuteness.

Good show.

Have a good weekend!!

The "Before" of the "After"

So, the week is going OK.

Cats and Rabbit and I are still pretty darn lonely without The Blisschick here.

"Excuse me? Did you say we are doing OK? Because I'm finding the Bunny Monitoring to be a little lax to say the least. Humph!"

I'm going to ignore that. She LOVES Her cat. Don't let her fool you.

It's weird to be in a house where I am the only Human.

It's also strangely quiet around here.

Oh, the cats do their share of talking. That's for sure.

Miss Zoe has been pretty quiet (until the above comment, anyhow!). Though she did thump at the noisy crew with noisy trucks that was resurfacing our street on Monday. It takes a lot to make her thump, though now the street is smooth, so it may have been worth One Thump.

(Perhaps that could be a new form of measurement. A smooth road may be worth One Thump. What might be worth Two?)

Anyhow, as promised Zoe and I would like to share some video from the kitchen painting project.

I wanted to post "Before" and "After" all in one day. But it is so dark and gloomy here today that it's hard to see the new wall colors very well in the videos I tried to take.

So today, I'll show you the "Before." Watching it made me giggle. The narration I did totally makes it sound like I'm on a home makeover show. Except, I am not a Trained Narration Professional, and that fact is Very apparent.

Kitchen Painting at the Lilypad: "Before" from marcy hall on Vimeo.

You'll have to wait until Friday for the "After."

Waiting for it will be worth Two Thumps.

Though, I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Hmmmmm.....

Ode to the Lonely

It's heeee---re.

My week alone.

Without the Blisschick. No Blisschick. None. Nada. Zilch.

She is gonzo.

[Sigh.]

The Blisschick, as you probably know, is off to Yoga Dance Training at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Massachusetts.

I've been trying hard to tell myself, "Self, this will be FUN!! You can think of it like a retreat of sorts. The house to yourself, the Mammals to yourself. Think of it as FUN!!"

It's not working. Not completely totally. Not yet.

Once I acclimate to the bizarro absence of the Chick, I'm pretty sure I will have an OK time of it. I have a whole list of projects to work on and things to do. That's not a problem.

Here's my list:

1. Pet cats
2. Play with cats
3. Write
4. Paint on some canvases (which I have to specify, due to #5)
5. Paint some walls-- the kitchen, the living room, a couple of doors, and also a table, and maybe some chairs. (Whew! #5 was a big one. I should have split that up!)
6. Read
7. Write a million emails to the Blisschick
8. Remember to feed myself

"Ahem....and, don't forget..."

Oh, right.

Miss Zoe.

There's no way I'll forget the Rabbit. Or, forget to feed the Rabbit, or forget to fluff the Rabbit's hay with fresh hay. Or, forget to snuggle the Rabbit. Or forget to play with the Rabbit. Nor will I forget to clean the Rabbit's Rabbit Box, give Her a banana chip each day before 7 AM, and Her salad every day before 2 PM.

The Rabbit gets her own separate and distinct list! An All-Rabbit-Related List.

Also due to #5, Wednesday will probably work out to be a bit of a before and after post.

Who doesn't LOVE before and after?!?

On Monday, before the painting prep begins, I will take a before kitchen movie. On Wednesday, I will take an after kitchen movie. It may be a later-in-the-day post, FYI. I have to wait until it's light to shoot the movie, after all.

FYI, Miss Zoe has not offered to help with any of the projects listed. The cats haven't offered, either, though Miss Lilly offered to "supervise" what ever that means.

Supervising? You call that supervising?

So, here I go into the abyss of Blisschicklessness. Wish me luck on my (lonely, lonely) journey.

Flip Friday

Oh, I know.

This is why you come here.

To see the Rabbit Movies.

I get it. Really-- I understand. I like to watch them, too.

Miss Zoe lives here. I watch her all the time in person. And yet, I still like (or, maybe love is a better word) to watch Her Rabbit Movies.

She's simply Magical.

Sigh.

Go ahead. Sigh with me.

Are you ready, then?

Here you go. Here is your Rabbit Infusion:

Zoe: The Movie from marcy hall on Vimeo.

Was that good? Are you set until next week?

Remember, you can watch it as many times as you need to. Miss Zoe is always here for you.

That's just the kind of Thoughtful, Big-Hearted Rabbit she is.
